Fundraising & Marketing Manager - St. Gabriel’s Foundation

Harty Virtual HR has been exclusively retained to manage the appointment of a Fundraising & Marketing Manager to St. Gabriel’s Foundation.

St. Gabriel’s Foundation is a well-respected Charity and Voluntary Organisation based in Limerick. It provides services and therapeutic interventions to children and adults with disabilities through their Children’s Disability Network Teams, Hydrotherapy Pool, Orthotics Department and Respite House. This position requires a dynamic, resilient, and innovative Fundraising and Marketing professional. The Fundraising and Marketing Manager will report directly to the CEO and will operate as part of the overall management team. Key Responsibilities of the job

  • Management of the fundraising and marketing function, to include:

  • Delivering ambitious fundraising targets and achieving targeted income and growth projections.

  • Researching, planning and implementing new fundraising opportunities and techniques

  • Playing an integral role in the financial management of the organisation; producing fundraising plans, strategies, budgets and forecasts to support same.

  • Developing and submitting proposals and applications for grant applications to secure funding in support of St. Gabriel’s Foundation.

  • Ensuring that fundraising income is derived from a diverse mix of sources - individuals, companies, trusts/foundations and others as appropriate, developing and maintaining meaningful and impactful relationships with these stakeholders.

  • Providing regular reports, to include income updates/forecasting for the CEO and the Board of Directors.

  • Ensuring that the administrative systems in the fundraising department are effective and efficient.

  • Building relationships/awareness with key media partners and increasing awareness and the profile of St. Gabriel’s locally, regionally, and nationally

  • Leading on publications such as the Annual Report and Newsletters.

  • Managing volunteers enlisted to help in fundraising, including attending at events and managing event volunteers.

  • Be the first point of contact for donors and supporters, building relationships with them.

The Fundraising & Marketing Manager is a member of the Senior Management Team and will be expected to play a proactive role in the management of the organisation, including:

  • Working with the senior management team on strategic and operational planning, risk management and organisational development.

  • Working across functions to ensure collaboration for shared goals and activities to maximise impact.

  • Proactively communicating the organisation’s direction to staff and stakeholders.

  • Leading by example and serving as a role model for the organisation’s behaviours and competencies.

  • Responsible and accountable for leading on data protection compliance in own functional area.

  • Adhering to the line managers’ responsibilities for health and safety as laid out in the organisation’s safety statement.

Candidate Profile - Essential:

  • You will typically have a degree in marketing/business or a related field, or equivalent “on the job” experience.

  • You will typically have c. 3 years’ experience in campaigns, fundraising or marketing.

  • Experience in website management

  • Excellent relationship building skills, with the ability to motivate, persuade and influence people at all levels.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work as both a key member of a team and collaborate and seek input from colleagues as well as proactively working alone

  • Excellent administrative, financial and analytical skills, including planning and budgeting.

  • Proficient project management skills, with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

  • Strong empathy, integrity and an understanding for the vision and values of the organisation.

Candidate Profile - Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a not-for-profit environment.

  • An understanding of the disability sector and associated support services.

  • An understanding and experience of working within The Charities Regulator guidelines.

  • Proven experience of developing, implementing, and managing major donor fundraising programmes.

  • Experience in applying for and securing philanthropic and government grant funding.

  • Knowledge of image and video editing software

Additional applicant requirements:

  • Full Drivers Licence and access to a vehicle

  • On occasion there may be a requirement to work outside of core working hours i.e. evenings/weekends and the post holder would be expected to be flexible in that regard.

  • A flexible approach to working hours is required in order to ensure deadlines are met.

  • All applicants must be eligible to work in Ireland.
